Inside Richmond Farm
Hey all-
Shot more scenes for episode 4 out at Blue Sky Ranch yesterday, which Loomer evoked so perfectly in his post just now. Thought I’d take the opportunity to give you a little “behind-the-curtain” glimpse of the Richmond Farm House Set (don’t read this if you don’t want the illusion spoiled).
So, you can see in the first photo above that from the outside, the house appears to have a second story. But as the next photo reveals, the second story doesn’t actually exist. There’s only rafters and open space. That allows for flexibility in lighting the interior scenes. The rooms that do exist are the family room, the kitchen, a bathroom, and a pantry. The stairs in the family room take you to a balcony that circles the inside perimeter of the house, but that’s it.
As you can see in the last photo, video village gets stashed in a back room, immediately behind the fireplace, that is accessible through a hidden exterior door that from the outside looks like a wall. Kind of fun being back there. Very bat-cavey. Also, there are actually bats. I tried to take a picture of one but couldn’t get them to cooperate.
Yesterday’s shooting went great, episode four is going to rock. Check back here for more updates.
